We wait for invoice generation to update the wallet balance, making it tough to track if customers have enough credit.
The balance might only cover part of the usage, leaving the rest as a due amount. Updating the balance in near real-time based on usage would be practical.

We added real time capabilities for wallets and prepaid credits. By default, the ongoing balance is refreshed every 5 minutes, but this is configurable by organization.
Also note that recurring top-ups are based on this ongoing balance, so it's easier to grant credits based on the actual consumption of usage.
